Spirit Week – February 20-23
To pump up our school spirit for the Winter Thunder Tournament next Friday and Saturday, we will be having a week of special spirit days. If you choose not to participate with the theme of the day, you will still be permitted to wear regular spirit wear. **Please also note that Thursday, February 22nd is Spring picture day. Students may bring extra clothes to change into before having their picture taken. Monday – NO SCHOOL; Tuesday – Tie Dye Day; Wednesday – Crazy Hat & Hair Day; Thursday – Star Wars Day; Friday – Class Day (each class will decide together what to wear).

Spring Picture Day
Thursday, February 22nd is Spring Picture Day. Forms have been sent home with your child. Please send your order form in on picture day. Online ordering is available.

Box Tops
Box tops will run through February 23. Please bring your box tops in a bag/envelope clearly marked with your student’s grade on the outside.

The month of February will be re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year. Re-registration paperwork will be coming soon with more information.

Student Request for Absence
We have a new form for any high school student requesting to be absent from school. The parents will need to fill out the form listing the student’s name, grade, date(s) requested off, reason and parent signature. It is then the student’s responsibility to take the form to each individual teacher and have them initial and write any assignments that the student will miss. Once all teachers have initialed, the form needs to be turned in to the school office for final approval at least two school days prior to the requested days off. Forms are available in the school office.

Snow closures and 2 hour delays
Please look on Parents Web for our snow closure and 2 hour delay policy. We will follow Crawford Central for all weather related cancellations and delays.

As you clean out and dispose of items in your closets/basements this winter, the English department is looking for gently used drawer storage bins to keep their props and costumes for speech productions. If you are getting rid of any bins, please consider donating them to the English department.

PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship)

• If you are willing to volunteer to serve pizza for an occasional Friday lunch, please contact Patty Frano at . The dates they are looking for help are: March 2, March 16, April 6, April 20.

• The PTF strives to encourage the Faculty and Staff throughout the year, as well as create a partnership between the home and the school to promote the mission of the school. While there are supposed to be 5 separate offices (listed below), we have had a meager attendance this past year. It is a true team effort and your help would be most appreciated.

• Vote requested: The two parents listed below would like to continue serving in these PTF offices. While an election is normally required, we are asking that you contact the school office only if you have any objections instead of sending home paper ballots. Not contacting the office will be considered a vote of approval from your family. Would you consider serving on the PTF in one of these vacant positions? Please contact the office by 2/28/18 with any objections or to volunteer in any of the open positions. Thank you!

• The seniors are selling coupon booklets for local Meadville Businesses. Pictures of the coupons are on our facebook page. The cost is $10.00 per book, and are available through the school office or you may contact a senior directly. These coupons will be good through the end of 2018.

• 100% all natural Lip Balm - $3/each or 3 for $8.00. The three flavors available are: Sugar and Spice, Twisted Lemon, and Barely There Mint. Orders can be placed via e-mail to the school office, on the facebook page, or directly through a senior.

• The Seniors have a few extra pies for sale: 2 cherry, and 1 very berry. The cost is $12.00.

Development News

• We are beginning to plan the 2018 Serve-a-thon, and are looking for interested people to serve on this years’ committee. If you are interested or available to help, please call the school office or notify Brian Williams.

• We have been given an opportunity to hold the Thunder Run on Memorial Day in Meadville. We will pursue this if we can get volunteers to help. If you are interested or available to help, please call the school office or notify Brian Williams.

• Invitations have been mailed out for our 50th Anniversary reception and dinner at Smith’s Country Gardens on Saturday, March 24th at 5:00 pm. The cost is $15.00 per person or $25.00 per couple. Please RSVP using the card enclosed in your invitation as soon as possible so that we are able to plan. Checks can be made payable to “50th CBCA.” Sunday, March 25th at 2:30 pm Shadow of the Statue will be performing at Calvary Baptist Church. At this event a special offering for our scholarship fund will be taken.

CBCA supporter! The auction committee is busy preparing for a fabulous 50th anniversary silent auction on March 24th. Below, please find a list of baskets being planned at this time. If you would like to contribute to any of these baskets, please feel free to do so. Simply drop your donation by the school or church office, and we will make sure it ends up in the correct basket. In addition, if you would like to create a basket, that would be great too! We are looking forward to a wonderful event!
